Caitlin Allen - Social Researcher

Caitlin is a social researcher who specialises in qualitative methodologies, including participatory research with vulnerable populations. Aspiring to empower the marginalised through her work, she’s spent over half a decade running research projects relating to children and families, mental health, and social policy.

Before she joined our team, Caitlin worked as a researcher for Jigsaw, Ireland’s leading youth mental health centre, developing evaluation frameworks and leading an inclusive approach to data collection.

She holds a BA (Hons) in Social Anthropology from the University of Edinburgh and an MA in Conflict Transformation and Social Justice from Queen’s University in Belfast. Throughout her academic career, Caitlin’s main research interest has been the enablers and barriers to social change. In both of her dissertations, she explored how culture, society and history contribute to attitudes towards LGBTQ+ people.

Caitlin may grapple with complex research challenges on any given day, yet she still always makes time for the New York Times’ daily crossword puzzle. Talk about a dedicated problem-solver.
