Louisa Wagner - Social Researcher

Louisa is a social researcher with a keen interest in social protection and economic inequality.

Prior to joining Alma, Louisa was a Carlo-Schmid Fellow at the International Policy Centre for Inclusive Growth at UNDP Brazil, researching social protection and developing a framework for the transition from social assistance to social insurance in Jordan. Previously, she held several research assistant positions at the University of Oxford and the University of Konstanz, participating in projects such as mapping long-term inequality drivers in Latin America and producing quantitative estimates of the economic costs of violent conflicts.

She holds an MPhil in Latin American Studies (Distinction) from the University of Oxford, where she examined the impact of Covid-19 on crime in Latin America. She also holds a BA in Politics and Public Administration (Honours) from the University of Konstanz, Germany.

Louisa enjoys learning Portuguese, exploring the hidden sides of London, or just curling up at home with a good book (in English, for now).
