Matthew Baker - Economist
Matthew is an economist skilled in econometrics and quantitative analysis. In tandem with his research role at Alma, he is working towards a PhD at Royal Holloway, University of London.
Before joining our research team, Matthew worked as a Financial Analyst at Amazon. In that capacity, he oversaw finances for a set of EMEA Transportation Revenue programmes and championed automation and process improvement projects within the company’s Transportation and OpEx departments.
Matthew was awarded an MSc in International Business Economics (graduating top of his class) and a BSc (Hons) in Economics from the University of Sussex.
A true cinephile, there aren’t many films that slip under Matthew’s radar. He visits the cinema at least once or twice a week, and come awards season he always has plenty of opinions to share.
