What you will do
As a Bid Manager, you will be responsible for managing the entire bidding process, from identifying and prioritising opportunities to submitting winning bids. The successful candidate will have an understanding of economic and social research methods and will play a key role in our growing commercial team while driving our business development strategy, breaking into new markets and searching for partnership opportunities.
You will work as part of multi-disciplinary teams and be immediately exposed to clients and our partners. You will interact with our Tech, Research, and Communications teams, gaining exposure to a range of projects and interacting with professionals from diverse backgrounds.

Key responsibilities
Identify new project opportunities, possible competitors and potential partners.
Coordinate and manage the entire bidding process, ensuring all submission requirements and deadlines are met.
Work closely with the head of commercial and colleagues from multidisciplinary teams to ensure our proposal is concise with a clear narrative.
Build and maintain market research databases, including key metrics to track relevant markets and performance.
Develop biding strategies that are creative, meet client requirement and maximise company profitability.

Requirements
Essential:
Experience in a commercial management role, preferably in a consulting, research, or data analysis firm
Experience managing budgets, setting targets, and monitoring performance
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly
Desirable:
Strong analytical skills and understanding of economic theory
Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Experience working with EU market procurement is a plus
Bachelor’s degree in economics or a related field

Alma Economics is a friendly and informal place, and our offices are designed for both work and play. We enjoy working from the office as we foster a strong culture within modern and fun spaces, allowing for casual catch ups, mentoring, brainstorming and teambuilding.
We do not have a one-size-fits-all WfH policy. Most staff members work from home for one or two days during a typical week, while it is also possible to arrange to WfH for more extended periods (e.g., 2-4 weeks) to visit family or travel.
While most staff work 5-day weeks, for most full-time positions we also offer the option of a 4-day working week, either from day one or as an arrangement employees can transition into later in their Alma career.
